About Us
Our Story
First Steps is a nursery located on Stokesley Industrial Estate, founded by Emma and Rebecca in October 2015. Before opening the nursery, we gained valuable experience working together as Manager and Deputy Manager, starting our careers as apprentices and students.

Together, we have over 33 years of experience in childcare. Alongside running the nursery, Emma is also a mother of three.
We offer care for children aged six weeks to five years, with both funded and non-funded places available. Our hours of operation are from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, and we close between Christmas and New Year.
We pride ourselves on being flexible, allowing parents to create custom sessions that work with their schedules and shift patterns.
-
Our nursery offers additional activities like Yoga on Wednesdays and Rhythm Time on Thursdays for our little ones. The benefits of these extracurricular activities have been remarkable.
-
We take seasonal photos of the children, with the first copy provided to parents and carers at no extra charge.
-
If more than one child from a family attends, the eldest child receives a 10% discount on monthly fees.
-
Our in-house cook prepares nutritious meals for the children using fresh ingredients.
-
We have developed our own curriculum, tailored to the specific needs of the children, making it easier for parents and carers to understand and achieve.
-
We do not charge a retainer for term-time-only places and have no registration fees.
-
Parents are entitled to two weeks of holiday at half fees.

Our Mission
Statement
At First Steps, we endeavour to shape our children into happy, independent and strong individuals who are confident, respectful and tolerant of others. We do this by providing them with a stimulating and awe-inspiring learning environment. We believe children learn best when they are challenged, stimulated and curious. It is important that children are nurtured, supported and feel loved in order to create magical little people who are ready for life in modern Britain.
